Trek kicks off from Paro and ends in Paro.

Duration of Trek                   : 4 Nights/5 Days
Duration in Bhutan              : 9 Nights/10 Days

Day 01. Katmandu/Delhi/Bangkok – Paro

 

Arrive at Paro.

Visit the National Museum & Paro fortress in the evening and take a leisurely evening stroll around Paro town.

Welcome dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02. Paro Halt

Hike to Taktshang – the tiger’s lair – monastery.

Afternoon visit the ruins of Drukgyel dzong and the 7th century Kyichu temple.

Towards the evening visit a farmhouse for dinner, take Bhutanese butter tea and home-brewed alcohol.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03. Paro – Chonana

Visit nearby villages, stroll through Bhutanese farmhouses, and enjoy an excellent view of Paro valley through pine forests.

Overnight stay in camp at Chonana which is located at an altitude of 3,500 meters, about 14 kilometers from Paro. The travel time is approximately five to six hours.

Day 04. Chonana – Jebkarpo

Climb Chelela Pass which at 3,700 meters is the highest road point in Bhutan. The forests around are filled with Primula, Blue Poppy and Rhododendrons during the flowering season. On a clear day, the pass also provides a stunning view of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Overnight stay in the camp at Jebkarpo.
Altitude: 3500 m Distance: 16 Km, Time: 6-7 Hrs 

Day 05. Jebkarpo – Milunga

Get a spectacular view of Mt Jomolhari which is revered as the abode of Bhutan’s mountain Goddess, Aum Jomo.

Other peaks equally spectacular on a clear day are Tsering Gang (The Glacier of Long Life) and Jichu Drakey.

Overnight stay in camp in Milunga.
Altitude = 3500 m Distance = 16 Km Time: 5-6 Hrs

Day 06. Milungla – Tong

Another day with excellent views of mountains and valley. On this trail, one will see lots of Yaks, an animal that is exclusive to the Himalyan communities.

Overnight in Camp in Tong.
Altitude:3,500m, Distance: 16 Km  Time: 6-7Hrs.

Day 07. Tong – Thimphu

Short descent to Paro valley and the trek ends at Drukgyel.

Have lunch at Paro and drive to Thimphu in the afternoon.

A cultural entertainment will be hosted in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel, Thimphu.

Day 08. Thimphu – Wangdi.

Visit the National memorial stupa in the morning followed by Tashichho Dzong, the power centre of Bhutanese government, and finally the National Handicrafts Emporium.

Afternoon drive to Wangdi over Dochula pass (3,150m)

Dinner and overnight stay at Wangdue hotel.

Day 09. Wangdi – Punakha – Paro.

A morning visit to Chhimi lhakhang, the temple of fertility, and Punakha Dzong, the ancient capital of Bhutan.

Lunch at Dochula cafeteria followed by visit to Druk Wangyel stupa and continue to Paro. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Paro.

Day 10 Paro – Paro International Airport.

Morning drive to Paro International Airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
